Attachment Style as a Predictor of Adolescent's Susceptibility to Peer Influence

, Marriage, Family and Human Development

The aim of this study is to describe the role parents have in their adolescents' peer relationships and the importance parents have in the quality of their children's friendships.

Interviews with more than 43 families are being conducted to develop an analytical description of parent-adolescent relations.

Researchers are finding links between parent and adolescent personalities, parent and adolescent perspectives about relationships, parenting styles, ways in which parents affect their adolescents' peer relationships, and how parents interact with adolescents and their friends.
