This study focuses on the way mothers and their infants interact, and the impact of these interactions on infant development processes. The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship between several factors that affect the way mothers and infants communicate over time.
By exploring demographic, family, maternal, and infant factors, researchers are coming to a better understanding of early communication systems. They are also determining how these factors influence the mental, emotional, and physical development of infants.
The study predicts that when there is stability in supportive factors such as marital quality and social network, communication styles will also be stable.
