This study helps meet the needs of at risk youth and their parents through an outreach program. This is a short-term training program to encourage parents to become more involved in supporting their children while promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
The outreach program includes an instructional manual and videotape, as well as 40 hours of practical training and a follow-up session.In these training sessions, parents will learn practical techniques to strengthen their parenting skills and become more responsible and involved in their children's overall growth.
