The aim of this study is to provide a richer description of the role parents have in their adolescents' peer relationships and the importance it has in the quality of these friendships.
Qualitative interviews with more than 43 families will be conducted in order to establish a descriptive assessment of parent-adolescent relations.
Researchers will analyze and find links between parent and adolescent personalities, parent and adolescent perspectives about relationships and parenting styles, functional ways in which parents facilitate their adolescents' peer relationships and affective ways in which parents interact with adolescents and their friends.
