The purpose of this study is to further the exploration of the role of men in families and discover ways to assess their parental involvement. This project is based on the book titled Appraising, Assessing, and Measuring Father Involvement.
As there are many factors that shape the way fathers are perceived and behave, defining fatherhood is a difficult task. To analyze this task, the study will seek to answer nine specific questions that address the following issues: defining fatherhood, men's role definitions, commitment to parenting, the relation of father involvement to children's well-being, and research and policymaking implications.
