The purpose of this project is to develop a Utah-sensitive financial education curriculum for high school students. This project intends to help the Utah adolescents develop better life skills in order to avoid family breakdowns such as those manifest in bankruptcy. The research will be broken down into three main categories: identifying existing financial curricula and attendant literature, developing a Utah-Specific Adolescent Curriculum that will account for demographic and economic Utah challenges and strengths, and preparing to pilot test the developed Utah-sensitive curriculum against a national benchmark curriculum.
