Intersensory Redundancy as Developmental Constraint in 5- and 7-Month-old Human Infants

, Marriage, Family and Human Development
, Psychology

The purpose of this research is to examine the development of intersensory development in 5- and 7-month-olds and use these results to generate empirically based predictions regarding intersensory functioning and development in preterm infants.  This project hopes to 1) provide funding for undergraduates who seek research training and experience within the field of human development, 2) provide information that will promote our understanding of developmental constraints that infants use in learning about their environment, and 3) provide information that will be beneficial to researchers, service providers, and parents alike regarding perceptual development broadly construed.
