The presence of a child with orthopedic impairments in a family may present challenges to family members that are different from those experienced by families who are raising children with other disabilities or chronic illness, or families who are raising non-disabled children. This project is based upon a previous work of gathered data from families of children with severe disabilities and/or chronic illnesses. This project will focus on the adaptation of family members in families raising a child who has orthopedic impairments. The results of this study will provide important information that can be used to by practitioners who work with these families.
