This study will examine whether the lived paradigm or philosophy of happiness held by the spouses in a marriage affects the quality/happiness of the marital relationship. It will seek to provide a means to examine the dogma underlying various views of marriage and family. This will enable various positions to be scientifically evaluated, with potential to assist in establishing law and policy supportive of sound public policy regarding marriage, children, and family.
