Understanding Individual and Family Factors Important to Young Women’s Eating Disorder Potential

, Marriage, Family, and Human Development

The purpose of this study is to further examine several relatively unexplored family and human development concepts regarding their potential contributions to current eating disorder literature. It examines these newer concepts within the context of several other factors that have already been identified as important to young women’s eating disordered behavior. Some of these newer concepts to be explored are sexual abuse/trauma, family structure, perceived family efficacy, religiosity, and parent connection.
