This project will document the level of interest demonstrated in family journals toward the issues surrounding financial functioning in the home by a thorough 25-year review of literature. The review of literature will focus specifically on two family journals: Journal of Marriage and the Family and Family Relations. We will determine the level of interest shown by “family scholars” in studying financial issues in the context of family. We will also determine the degree of interest that family economics researchers have shown in publishing their research in main-stream family journals. The findings will allow those with an interest in family financial scholarship to better understand the particular family finance issues which have been and are of interest to family scholars.
