Cognitive, Emotional and Physiological Correlates of Social Withdrawl in Early Childhood

, Marriage, Family and Human Development

The purpose of this study is to examine whether various withdrawn behaviors are differentially related to cognitive performance in preschool.  At this time, little is known about the link between different forms of behavioral solitude and cognitive outcomes in young children.  Findings from this study can provide useful information for helping children who have peer relationship difficulties that may impede their ability to achieve their cognitive potential.
