Evaluating and Nurturing Couple Relationships throughout Marriage: An Expansion of the RELATE Program

, Marriage, Family and Human Development

The purpose of this project is to elevate the RELATE program from a one time evaluation experience to a long term process where couples are routinely evaluated, given feedback about the state of their relationship, and provided with information, excercises and oppurtunities to nurture their relationship. Currently RELATE is one of the best assesment instruments and feedback mechanisms availabe for dating, engaged, and married couples. However, most of the people who use REALTE only participate once. This proposal will seek to refine the longitudinal process so that response rates are better and to complete the research necessary to develop a report for couples that illustrates couple growth, challenges, and strengths each time the instrument is completed.
