The proposed study will explore how processes of religious striving to achieve sacred purposes among Latter-day saint families in several nations and cultures are related to the achievement of spiritual thriving in their children and youth. The study will be a sub-sample of a broader study funded by John Templeton Foundation that will include focus groups from youth, parents, and youth leaders from various faiths from over a dozen nations. this proposed study will be the first phase of a longitudinal study of LDS youth that will also be a sub-sample of a Templeton Foundation funded study of 2,000 children and youth rom around the world. I will be submitting an application next year to fund surveys of 600 LDS families and interviews with a proportion of them.
