If They Could Change the World: Children, Youth and the Politics of Childhood in American's Civil Rights Movement
Rebecca de Schweinitz,
History
This project will provide a new framework for understanding the Great Depression, the Civil Rights Movement, the 1954 Brown ruling, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NACCP), and modern race relationships. It will expand our understanding of childhood and encourage scholars (and perhaps others) to recognize young people as significant historical and political actors.
